Something Borrowed

I was looking fwd to this movie ever since I heard that they were making one from Emily Giffin's first book. I'm such a fan of her books, but this movie was a bit of a let down. John Krasinksi is the best thing abt this movie. He was great - his comedic timing is just perfect. I loved him in The office, he was great in It's Complicated, and he was just awesome in Something Borrowed. I pictured Ethan just like that. Dex was hot, but a little lame-o and his character in the book showed a lot of anguish. The girls were alright and the faulty friendship was shown accurately, but some of the so over the top obvious scenes between the girls made me cringe. Marcus wasn't that much of a clown in the book but in the movie, he came across ridiculously. Eh, I know I'll watch the next movie they make - Something Blue. That's the cross us readers carry cuz we just have to watch the movie to see how it is. lol

Osama Bin Laden is dead

I was in college when the events of 9/11 occurred. I was in the computer lab printing out notes when someone said - a plane crashed into one of the Twin Towers. We all rushed out in the lobby and watched the video. I rushed to class and saw not a soul was there..I rushed home to watch the news. None of the normal radio stations were working on the drive home....I watched the news and cried like a baby. The horrific and surreal scenes were too much to bear.

Jon Bon Jovi to Open "Pay What You Can" Soul Kitchen Restaurant in Red Bank, New Jersey

"The restaurant will serve healthy foods prepared with local ingredients from New Jersey farms. The difference is that there will be no prices on the menu.......The restaurant will be run on a "pay what you can" basis. The suggested meal donation is $10. If you can afford to pay more, the money will go to help feed someone. If you can't afford to pay, you can volunteer time in the restaurant. In short -- no one is turned away from a meal."

mind and music correlation

Today on the train, Rihanna's Unfaithful song showed up in my shuffle queue. And while I was listening to it, all of a sudden I had images of Twilight pop up in my head - vividly.

I sat there wondering whyyyy and then it came to me. I had read twilight a year ago on the train commute. I was hooked onto Unfaithful and played it nonstop around the same time. I hadn't thought about twilight or Unfaithful, but listening to the song automatically put flashing of twilight into my brain.

It was the most bizarrest mind traveling I have experienced. The twilight thoughts were there and I just couldn't understand why b/c I hadn't consciously or directly thought of it. I never even put the two together. I can understand listening to a song and thinking of a person or a specific time in your life (college, HS) or experience (concert, party, etc). This was just a book with no established link to the song. The wonders of the mind or classical conditioning? lol

post

This is my 26th post of this year and it's not even mid year. This is more than all of last year's posts.

I really should devote more time to myself - reflecting, thinking, and cherishing my desires, hopes, and dreams.
