what you become

"What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals."
-- Zig Ziglar

I was never big on the whole "find yourself" mumbo jumbo. Always turned a deaf ear on it. I always knew myself - after all I was ME, I never felt that I needed to find myself..what a crock is what I said. Boy, was I ever wrong. :) I'm learning things about myself that I didn't know exisited. Maybe they didn't before, but maybe they did. I'll never know b/c I was too arrogant to look.

And I can expand here a bit and say - finding urself is never a closed chapter. You're changing so you're always finding yourself. As one gets to know oneself, you make better decisions b/c you know your likes and dislikes, you tend to be more peaceful b/c you really feel confident about your abililties and goals, you tend to be more happier b/c you give yourself what you really want rather than what you think you want. You tend to feel more solid b/c you learn your strengths and strive to make your weaknesses go away and know how far you can be pushed. Sounds really basic but if you don't know yourself or can't lean on yourself - then what's the darn point.

And here's to age! I'm not saying I'm super old, but I do feel older and slightly wiser. I can now at this age admit(I wouldn't have before), that never again will I say youth topples everything. It can in certain situations, but I've def learned that age and experiences should never be guffawed at. There's so much to life that can't be incoroprated in a few years of youth.

I read this quote randomly at work today - and look at the ride it took me on..heheee!!

wow, great post, very thoughtful. Look at you all philosophizing! Does this mean you won't call me old any more?
