The Namesake
I finally got around to watching this movie. Figure might as well support indian actors esp when they aren't playing the stereotypical deli owner role. :) I actually like Kal Penn. Thought the whole movie would be on immigration issues and parents worrying about kids growing up cultureless in a country that wasn't their own. But, while it had all that, it also had this interesting grief theme. Now if that theme stood out to me more while the others didn't, I don't know. But, I watched it with a friend and we discussed it and she agreed it was def. there for her too. I haven't actually experienced grief. Sure I've been sad and upset, but never soul wrentching grief. I am not sure I will be able to survive it...or even want to experience it. Dunno - but as far as the movie goes. It wasn't bad...Worth watching once even if its just to support Kal Penn. :)
