"China has 32 million more..

young men than young women...because parents facing strict birth limits abort female fetuses to have a son." -- shows a study done in a BMJ article.

This gap is the most in the 1-4 year age group. Can you imagine when these kids are of dating age in China? OMG

requirements of life

"We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us really happy is something to be enthusiastic about."

fidget queen

Today, sitting next to me on the train was an Asian lady who liked to fidget. Middle-aged, purple wool coat, black slacks, short black hair, Coach sneakers. From the moment she sat down, fidget fidget fidget. She carried with her one enormous black patent leather bag, and for reasons unknown, a mostly empty large black trash bag. When she finally shoved the leather bag under her feet, she placed the trash bag on top, but it was so large, it spilled over on both sides. (into my area too). She kept bending over and fidgeting with it, but all she kept getting were my feet\ankles. After the second grope, I totally shrinked myself all the way on the other side away from her and her contraptions. More fidgeting. Then she opens the trash bag and pulls out a section of an Asian newspaper. Opens the darn thing all wide and reads. Then after reading, shoves the section back into the still open trash bag, and pulls out the next section. This continues, until finally, I say excuse me when she elbows me yet again. I hear a heavily accented sorry. She then shoves everything into her trash bag, and attempts to doze. Luckily, at Newark, the person that sat down next to her leaves, so she moves into that seat leaving a seat empty in the middle of us. She continues with her reading, but this time puts her foot up on the armrest of the seat in front of us. I couldn’t see if there was anybody sitting in front of her. Wow.

racquetball

I think this is the 10th time we've tried to play, but to no avail. Something or another keeps coming up. Either a snow storm, or the sports shop closes, or we'd rather go to Dunkin Donuts or someone's registration is canceled or the court is booked. I think racquetball is trying to tell me something. lol

It's the warm weather - day light savings - dunno, I think I come out of hibernation around the same time.

lazy

I was so super lazy this weekend. Other than babysitting my brother who was sick, I just sat around, watched tv, read, made a few quick meals. I only stepped out to watch the comedy show that I mentioned below. (best stepping out so far this year) The whole losing an hour didn't affect me any. lol Tho, wish I could have that hour now b/c I'm bored @ work. Just wanna go back to being lazy. I have spent already 45 minutes eating breakfast. lol ... Maybe my mind is just unconsciously saving my energy for the racquetball game 2nite . hah - I'm so ready for another vacation. I hear the work piling on... Ehh, time for a bathroom break lol

russell peters

He's funny on tv, he's funny on youtube...but he's straight up CRAZY hilarious in person. This guy had me laughing thru every minute of his routine even when he wasn't talking. One of his shows in London was sold out within 48 hours - Be sure to check him out if he's in your town! Go brown..lol

future

“The future is not a result of choices among alternative paths offered by the present, but a place that is created--created first in the mind and will, created next in activity. The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating.”

Twilight

A friend of mine read all four in a few weeks span when her boyfriend was away and had good things to say and confirmed it wasn't scary. I finally decided to buy the first book. I am hooked. I will say it doesn't compare to Harry Potter (not that I'm comparing totally different books), but it is still very entertaining. I have not finished the first book, yet, so I can't fully comment. I found myself reading the book with my heart jittery just b/c there's vampire content. lol I don't think I'll be able to get past that..hehee, but I'm trying.

I saw a girl around my age this morning on my way to work standing n waiting for the train while reading -- a twilight book. lol I found myself jealous b/c I wanted to read mine (it was in my bag), but I can't be on the go and read. Ain't talented. ;)

I'll watch the movie once I'm done with the first book.
