Vantage Point

B/c of this silly snow on Friday, we decided to cancel the city plans and say local. So, we went to go watch a movie. So, we were kinda annoyed to begin with at the change in plans and the movie didn't help much.

The movie - A good idea but very bad actual display of the story. Eight different scenarios shown and at the end the story pulls together. Well it tried to pull together. Repeated scenes but different views was fun for the first two but then quickly got annoying as it went thru all of them. Neat idea, but just didn't gel together. The president is shot and how\who\why is what you have to try to figure out.

Worst part is b/c of those repeated scenes and different views, you hardly get attached to the characters and you can't seem to connect and understand their motives b/c you're being jumped around. And personally if you can't feel what the characters are feeling, then what a waste. I like to get completely involved when watching a movie. We actually had the audience laughing everytime the repeat came on and it wasn't supposed to be funny...thats how tiresome it got.
The terrorists kill the president but at the end they do something completely ridiculous so you find yourself thinking what a phony.

I was very excited to see this movie with its cast and story approach - but unfortunatately didn't live up. Not a complete flop because it does keep the interest and guessing thru out the movie, but not as awesome as I wanted it to be. heheee All good!
